Our More than Maps Team has been involved in a variety of different events.
For an overview of our activities, take a look below:
Our More than Maps Team at the University of Southampton ran two interdisciplinary workshops at FOSS 2020. Around 30 college students from 4 different colleges attended the workshops and learned how to use geospatial data for coastal monitoring and social science methods for analysing stakeholders’ interests in coastal management.
“These timely and important workshops are an excellent example of researchers engaging with teachers and young people to promote and increase awareness of the social sciences – a core purpose of the ESRC Festival of Social Science. Attendee feedback following the workshops demonstrated that the sessions provided a rewarding and productive experience for all involved, students and academics.”
